Hope you've had a lovely weekend πŸ™We went to visit Son Bou today and couldn't beleive how everything there is closed and no one about. Rolo was pleased and loved his swim there today 🐾 It's a very touristy part of the island and has one of the only two high rise buildings. I've been told by local Menorcan friends the hotel were told they have to take down some levels off but just don't do it. It's not our favourite place due to it being quite touristy but it was lovely to see the beautiful beach (ignoring the high rise) and rocks. We prefer the little small places and coves. We also visited some Talyotic sites and again no one about. Minorca has a large variety of megalithic buildings. They're prehistoric buildings consisting of houses watch towers, tombstones etc and are known as the Pre-Talayotic period.

'The thousand years of human presence on Menorca have come to be called the pre-Talayotic Neolithic until the Early Bronze Age, with an economy based on livestock and incipient agriculture. The most visible remains of this period are the megaliths (megalithic gravesites and naveta homes) and hypogea' (Balearia.es 2020)

Amazing archaeology and lovely to spend time there soaking in the beauty. There are many more sites for us to visit still, this is just a few of them. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend too. πŸ‘πŸš›πŸΎπŸ‘«
