Small Home Big Adventure: Facebook 29th March 2020

I used to teach and want to remind people it's not just the NHS workers we need to thank it's also teachers, bin men, shop workers , delivery people and all the front line workers keeping our country going. I will clap for them all at 8pm Thursday. Teachers and school staff across the country will go into schools over the coming weeks where they will interact with children of NHS staff who are highly exposed to COVID-19. They will not be given face masks or protective clothing. They may not even be given hand gel or antibacterial wipes. They won't get free coffee☕, free flowers,💐 half price pizza🍕, applause 👏or special shopping hours🛍. They will perform their jobs in ways they have never done before and they will do it with a smile on their faces so that the children in their care don't know how scared they are. Scared for those children. Scared for their own children. Scared of being responsible for taking the virus🦠 back home to their loved ones. So please, please do not send your kids to school unless you absolutely have to - if there is any way you can keep them at home, do so.🏘 Thank you to all teachers, teaching assistants, kitchen staff, cleaners, caretakers, admin staff and anyone else heading into a school this week to keep it running so that our NHS and carers can take care of the sick and the vulnerable, our shops can stay open and deliveries can continue. You too are heroes!” #notallheroeswearcapes👩🏫👨
