Small Home Big Adventure: Binibeca - Menorca
Published: Wed 14th September 2022
Binibeca stretches over 3kms from Binibeca Vell in the West through Binibeca Nou and onto Cala Torret to the East. All around there are white villas and apartments. It's quite a touristy resort in summer but relative to other summer destinations it's relaxing and quiet.
From here we were on good days able to see across to Mallorca and had amazing sunsets. Binibeca holds a piece of my heart as it is where we used to come when I was a child for our holidays. My father had a villa right at the top of the hill.
At that time it wasn't so well known and there were villas dotted about on the hill. Now it's full of villas all over the hill looking down onto the beautiful bay and beach. We have met so many friendly people and also have friends here who would look after Rolo when we went diving.
Binibeca dive centre also have a labrador called Deco who Rolo would love to see and always got to have a swim with him after we had been diving.
Because it wasn't the busy season anymore we ended up parking up on the coastal road behind the villas as they were closed up for the season so wouldn't be obstructing their views. We were legally parked and never left anything out and always respected the fact that there may be walkers passing by so made sure when we were in the lorry the steps were not obstructing the walkway too much.
